Argumenta – Journal of Analytic Philosophy

About

Argumenta is the journal of the Italian Society for Analytic Philosophy (SIFA). It was founded in 2014 in response to a widespread demand for the creation of an Italian journal explicitly devoted to the publication of high quality research in analytic philosophy. From the beginning Argumenta was conceived as an international journal, and has benefitted from the cooperation of some of the most distinguished Italian and non-Italian scholars in all areas of analytic philosophy.

The idea of Argumenta was conceived by SIFA and a group of Italian scholars in the context of an international research project on “Truth and Persuasion” funded by Regione Autonoma della Sardegna and coordinated by the Universities of Sassari and Cagliari. It was the close cooperation between this research team and SIFA that originally set in motion the creation of the journal.

Argumenta accepts articles, discussions and reviews in philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, philosophy of logic, philosophy of law, political philosophy, epistemology, ethics, and any other area of analytic philosophy, broadly conceived; scholars anywhere in the world are invited to answer the regular calls for papers and calls for guest editorships. There are no fees to publish an article in Argumenta. All the contributions will undergo a standard double blind refereeing procedure. Argumenta is an open access journal. For more information see the journal policy page.

Argumenta has been included in SCOPUS, Web of Science, ERIH PLUS, DOAJ, Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers, Sherpa Romeo, and GOOGLE SCHOLAR.

Argumenta is also ranked in “Class A” according to the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes (ANVUR).
