Alessandro Torza is Associate Professor at the University of Parma, working in metaphysics and its interaction with neighboring areas, such as logic, philosophy of science, and philosophy of language. He is especially interested in indeterminacy, the metaphysics of modality, laws of nature, chance and counterfactuals, as well as metametaphysics.

Alessandro is a founding member of the Association of Analytic Metaphysics in the Italian-Speaking World (AMAMI), as well as member of the Center for Logic, Language and Cognition (LLC), the Society for the Metaphysics of Science (SMS), the Metaphysics Collaborative, the European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP), and the Italian Society of Analytic Philosophy (SIFA).
