Frederick Schauer

 

Frederick Schauer is David and Mary Harrison Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Virginia, USA.  He works on issues of legal reasoning, philosophy of law, legal and constitutional interpretation, and freedom of expression.  Among his books are Playing By the Rules: A Philosophical Analysis of Rule-Based Decision-Making in Law and in Life (Oxford 1991, and in Italian as Le regole del gioco.
