Helena Siipi

 

Helena Siipi works as a University Lecturer at the Philosophy Unit at the University of Turku, Finland. She earned her doctoral degree in 2005. She has published on various topics of environmental philosophy and applied ethics. She finds philosophy of food interesting especially in connection to new biotechnologies. Her current work concerns the meanings and the justificatory power of terms such as ‘pure,’ ‘authentic,’ and ‘natural’ when used in reference to food. She teaches research ethics and has been a member of various national research ethical boards.
