Patrik Hummel has a PhD in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews. His research interests include personhood and personal identity, agency and responsibility, and bioethical questions as they arise from emerging biotechnologies. He is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Systematic Theology II (Ethics) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany.
